What qualifications or experience do I need ? Two GCSEs at grade A*- D, Mature students with appropriate experience will be considered. You must attend an interview and take a practical skills test. What will I study ? During the year you will study the principles of cookery processes and adapt these to a real working environment. You will also study a range of non-craft units vital for an aspiring chef. In addition to the main learning programme all learners will study the Level 2 hygiene course, Level 1 food and beverage service and barista skills Level 1 How will I be assessed ? The non -craft units are assessed in the form of written assignments and graded at pass, merit and distinction. The main cookery units are assessed by synoptic exams during and at the end of the year and are graded pass, merit and distinction What qualifications could I achieve ? This course aims to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a career as a chef and to provide you with the opportunity to pursue a higher catering qualification.
