Painting & Decorating Diploma Level 1

Who is this course for? This is an excellent course for those who are wishing to gain further hand skills experience in Painting and Decorating whilst working towards achieving a nationally recognised qualification. This is a hands on enjoyable programme which whilst challenging will provide a nationally recognised qualification. What qualifications or experience do I need ? There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but students should display Level 1 of literacy and numeracy capabilities. What will I study ? This course will cover a variety of topics related to this subject including Health & Safety. The full list of modules is written in the course handbook. How will I be assessed ? Assessment will be through: * Practical Tasks and Theory Units What qualifications could I achieve ? Students who successfully complete year one of this course will achieve a City & Guilds 6218 Basic Decorative Skills and a proportion of Construction Award Units What can the course lead to ? Students who successfully complete this first year will be able to proceed with their second year towards their Diploma Level 2 - or progress towards the full NVQ Level 2 - this is subject to gaining work experience in order to follow through with the required on-site work base assessments records. How do I join the course ? Applicants will need to complete and return an enrolment form, and to attend an interview. Will I need an interview ? Yes. There will be an interview with a member of the construction staff. Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ? All students must provide and wear safety footwear and white overalls. Some students may be required to pay fees, see prospectus for details. Further Information The programme of study may include work experience and there is also a possibility of enrichment trips in order to gain further experience and knowledge.
