How To Study For Higher Education

Who is this course for? This course is for people who wish to return to learning and may need some help with their study skills. You will study English and IT in Term 1 and Maths and Science in Term 2. What qualifications or experience do I need ? No previous qualifications are required but some computer skills and level 1+ Literacy and E3+ Maths. What will I study ? You will be required to attend college on a Thursday from 6pm-9pm and study within the classroom and complete small projects independently. How will I be assessed ? You will be assessed by your tutor using a range of methods. This could include tasks set by awarding body such as designing charts or lea?ets, written coursework or methods such as oral questioning/ The topics that you will on the course will include: English, IT, Science & Maths - up to GCSE level. What qualifications could I achieve ? Internal College certificate. What can the course lead to ? Access programmes in Nursing, Social Work, Primary Teaching, Science or Radiography. Supporting Teaching and Learning roles in Early Years or school settings. How do I join the course ? You will need to apply through Course Information by completing an application form. Will I need an interview ? Yes. You will be required to complete a literacy assessment as part of the interview process in order to show you are working at the required level.
