Who is this course for? This course is for 16-18 year olds who wish to improve their English and maths to prepare for further study and /or employment. What qualifications or experience do I need ? Applicants should be working at English and Maths level E1/ E2. This will be assessed at interview. No formal qualification are needed. What will I study ? The course covers the following topics: - English - Maths - Projects - Vocational Preparation - IT units - Tutorials - Developing personal and academic skills and confidence - Homework How will I be assessed ? You will be assessed at interview for English and maths level and for suitability for the course. We will also require a satisfactory reference and may need other relevant information from school/external agencies On course, you will be assessed through internal and external assignment work, and by assignment work. What qualifications could I achieve ? - Functional Skills E1, E2 and E3 English. - Functional Skills E1, E2 and E3 maths. - Functional Skills E1, E2 and E3 ICT. - Certificate in Personal and Social Development. What can the course lead to ? The aim is to prepare you for a vocational course. How do I join the course ? You will need to submit an application form from the full time prospectus.
