What will I study ? * Health & Safety * Relevant anatomy and physiology * Promoting products or services to clients * Contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business * Cosmetic make up - camouflage * Creating and interpreting fashion and photographic make up including avant garde, advertising and retro * Functional Skills * Competition and show work * Compiling and interpreting a portfolio of images * Creating a total image * Presentation skills * History of make up * Industry knowledge and skills make up for current demands and aspects eg., TV/film/internet plus understanding industry schedules, call sheets, booking forms. How will I be assessed ? By a range of methods including assignments, written tests, presentations, oral questions, practical assessments on external models to include functional skills, show/competition work, portfolio of evidence including photographic and moving images. What qualifications could I achieve ? On successful completion of the course you will achieve Beauty Therapy (Make up) Level 3 Diploma What can the course lead to ? Employment as a freelance make up artist or with a skin care and/or make up company or progression to HE. How do I join the course ? Complete an application form and return it to admissions. Will I need an interview ? A formal interview is required where people will complete oral, written and dexterity tests to determine suitability. A reference is also required. Proof of qualification must be brought to the interview Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ? Kit: �150.00 Uniform: �57.00 Further Information A willingness to work on competitions and shows is essential and may take place outside of the timetabled hours. It is advised that students have their own camera and camcorder to be able to record, print and copy images.
