Who is this course for? If you are interested in gaining a basic understanding of childcare and child development and looking for a course that will train you to work in a supervised role, in child care employment as an assistant, then this is the perfect programme for you. This course programme covers: * Child Development * Professional Practice * Supporting Learning * Play and Learning * Health & Safety You will need to attend two days work experience in a nursery and primary school setting How will I be assessed ? Assessment will be through: * On going National Assignments covering various aspects of childcare and education practice. * 1 exam * Satisfactory Placement reports What qualifications could I achieve ? On successful completion of this course, you will achieve a CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Child Care and Education. What can the course lead to ? On successful completion of this course, students can progress onto a number of courses, such as: * CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare & Education * Children and Young People's Diploma (Level 3) Alternatively, employment can be found as a childcare assistant in a range of childcare and education settings. How do I join the course ? Please complete an application form and post it or hand it into Admissions. An interview will then be arranged. After your interview a letter will be sent to you with enrolment details. Will I need an interview ? Yes. All applicants will be interviewed and required to undertake a literacy assessment and written task. Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ?
