Who is this course for? The course is aimed at 16-19 year olds who wish to pursue a career in the Health and Social Care Sectors or related subject areas. What qualifications or experience do I need ? Applicants will need to have a Full BTEC First Diploma in Health and Social Care awarded at Merit or Distinction. You may also apply if you have 5 GCSE grade A-C which must include English Language at grade C and Maths at grade C. Functional Skills English and Maths at level 2 will also be accepted. What will I study ? You will be required to attend college @ 3 days a week and do one day a week for the duration of the course on work placement in a Health and Social Care setting. Students will be assessed by completing assignments and by attending work placements What qualifications could I achieve ? BTEC National Diploma in Health and Social Care - Level 3 (The course is equivalent to 3 A Levels) What can the course lead to ? After completing the course students can progress on to HND in Health and Social Care or apply directly to University. Alternatively students may decide to gain employment within the health and social care sector How do I join the course ?
