Signmaking Full-Time

What's it all about? Signmakers design, manufacture and install signs including street signs, signs that advertise shops, businesses and public facilities as well as signage that can be found on vans and lorries. The signs maybe designed as flat, two-dimensional (2D) or three-dimensional (3D) installations using computer software. What skills and qualities do I need? Creative Observant with a good eye for details The ability to use a computer What would I learn at College? How to use design software to create signs How to produce graphics and apply vinyl's using signmaking equipment e.g. banners and sign panels How to provide guidance to customers on the most suitable signage for their enrolments How to produce accurate estimates and quotes for signage work How to produce and apply digital imaging for vehicle wrapping How to meet health, safety and environmental requirements in the workplace
