Who is this course for? A student who wishes to study full-time to progress to university courses having recently achieved a range of GCSE qualifications. What qualifications or experience do I need ? GCSE grades A* - C in at least six academic subjects in one sitting, including at least a Grade B in GCSE Maths. Maths (Mechanics) should only be studied by students also taking AS Physics. Students will be asked to sit an induction test which will identify candidates not suitable for the subject. What qualifications could I achieve ? On successful completion of this course, you will be awarded AS Maths. What can the course lead to ? On successful completion of this course, those studying an AS Level can continue on to A2, a full A Level. Not only is this course highly regarded by employers, but the successful completion of an A Level in Maths, coupled with other subjects, will help you progress onto Higher Education, and advance in courses such as Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Computing, Physics and Accounting, to name but a few. How do I join the course ? You must complete a full-time application form and make an appointment for an interview with a tutor. References will be required from your previous educational establishment. Will I need an interview ? Yes, before you can enrol. Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ? Yes, students are expected to buy their own textbooks (new edition of Pearsons Edexcel AS and A Level Modular Mathematics), scientific calculator (not graphical) and basic Maths equipment.
