Develop the skills and qualities you need to work in a care setting with this introductory qualification in health and social care.
You will learn about human development, health and care services and effective communication through practical activities which will prepare you for entering a career in the care sector. You will also improve your numeracy, literacy and ICT skills and achieve a functional skills qualification.
Assessment is through the assignments they are assessed internally and moderated externally.

Applicants for a level 1 programme will normally have:
- a strong interest in their chosen programme of study
- the commitment to work towards improving English and maths as
part of the programme
- the ability to discuss past experiences of education and future
ambitions in an interview
Applicants will be invited to attend an interview and complete an
internal assessment.
Successful completion can lead to the Health and Social Care Level 2 Diploma, which is offered at Banbury and Bicester College.
All students will have their literacy and numeracy needs supported within the programme.
