Health and Social Care Level 1 Diploma

Develop the skills and qualities you need to work in a care setting with this introductory qualification - the Diploma in Health and Social Care.

You learn about human development, health and care services, practical activities and effective communication ready for entering a career in the care sector. You also improve your numeracy literacy and ICT skills and achieve a functional skills qualification.

Assessment is through the assignments - they are assessed internally and moderated externally.

Learning consists of lessons, practical activities, assignments and a supervised work placement.

You get qualified in personal social and development skills and sensory skills for care workers. You also gain a functional skills qualification.

Applicants for a Level 1 programme will normally have:
- A strong interest in their chosen programme of study
- The commitment to work towards improving English and Maths as part of the programme
- The ability to discuss past experiences of education and future ambitions in an interview

Applicants will be invited to attend an interview and complete an internal assessment. All students will have their literacy and numeracy needs supported within the programme.

Successful completion of this Introductory Diploma in Health and Social Care can lead to Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
