Description

This course is suitable for beginners and more experienced potters alike. You will learn to develop new skills and produce fine ceramics. Your completed work will require a couple of weeks to dry and be fired and glazed during the course and should be finished before it ends

You will gain a sound knowledge of a ceramics workshop and the processes used. You will be encouraged to explore the properties of clay using a variety of forming and decorating techniques: forming, throwing, coiling, slabbing, slip casting. You will receive individual feedback and discussion about your work during each session. There is no formal assessment on this course.

This is a practical workshop-based course with group and individual demonstrations of a variety of techniques. You will work on your own designs at a pace appropriate to your skill level and experience with individual tutor guidance.

You will gain ceramics skills and the confidence to work independently.

No experience or qualifications necessary - just enthusiasm. You are asked to wear old clothes or bring an overall

You may wish to re-enrol for further terms to gain experience in making more complex pieces. You may wish to progress to a full time art and design course.
