Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Barbering

Introduction

This qualification will develop the basic knowledge, skills and competences to work as a barber.

What Will I Learn

You will learn the core skills required in barbering. It is a practical-based course and you will be assessed on your competency to perform basic salon services. The theory underpins the practical skills.

How Will I Be Assessed?

You will carry out a range of practical assessments within a commercial working environment. You will also collate theoretical evidence in the form of assignments, projects and tests.

Entry Requirements

Level 1 qualification in Hairdressing or any other hairdressing experience (trade test may be applied).

Additional Information

Students will need to purchase a Barbering Kit, uniform and text books at a cost of approximately £235.

Progression

All of our programmes are designed to allow you to progress from your appropriate entry level up to university, Foundation Degrees or the workplace. The progression from this programme would be NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing (Level 2) or Industry.

Career Opportunities

This vocational qualification is designed to equip you with the skills required within the workplace. Positions that would be open to you will include Men's Hairdresser and Barber.
