Introduction

This one year programme intended for students who are 19+, (although the minimum age is actually 16). The course is designed to be a stand-alone course for students who need to develop their skills further to improve work prospects or access to other courses. These functions skills courses are for Maths or English.

What Will I Learn

You will develop your speaking and listen skills, learn how to extract relevant information and improve your writing skills at an appropriate level for you.

How Will I Be Assessed?

There will be assessments throughout the course and a final timed assessment sent to the exam board for Entry Level students. Level One students will be required to sit an exam.

Entry Requirements

You will need to be working at Entry Level 3 and above and show a high level of commitment to the programme. You will need to attend an interview and provide a reference.

Progression

You may be able to progress to Level 1 courses.
