Improve your Maths; for work, everyday use and to prepare for higher level courses. This programme offers you the opportunity to improve your Maths skills within a supportive and friendly atmosphere. Our specialist tutors will help you develop your skills, enabling you to achieve a Functional Skills Maths qualification. If you are interested then all you need to do is telephone 0845 155 2020 to arrange an appointment with one of our tutors who will discuss your needs.

Students can work towards Entry Level qualifications and at Levels 1 and 2. Assessment is paper based or on-line at Entry Level, Levels 1 and 2.

No qualifications are required, although you will need to attend an informal interview. Students are unable to enrol directly onto the course.

By the end of your programme you should have: - gained a recognised Maths qualification, helping you gain access to further courses, training programmes and job opportunities. - new skills to help you cope with Maths at work and in everyday life.

This is a well-established course taught by experienced and friendly tutors which means that many of our students achieve their personal goals and go on to many different destinations. Many students progress to the next level for Functional Skills Maths or are accepted onto vocational or academic courses in the college. A number of students find that they progress in their workplace, after they have achieved the next level of Maths.

Our tutors regularly receive outstanding feedback from their learners, some of which is highlighted below: 'Teaching has taken the fear of Maths away and made it much easier to understand.' Martin Martin joined the college in 2011-12 and achieved Level 1 Maths. He joined a Construction course in 2012-13 and has continued to gain Level 2 Maths, so that he can progress to a higher level vocational course next year. 'I have enjoyed being taught by my tutor, she is very thorough in explaining Maths problems. I couldn’t wish for a better tutor.' Jane Jane began at the college in 2012 and has already gained Entry 3 Functional Skills Maths. She will continue at the college in 2013 and take Level 1 exams.
