Introduction

The Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) course is designed for adults who would like to teach English to others in either UK private language schools or abroad. |The course will run for 20 weeks on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.00-9.00pm.

What Will I Learn

Students will learn about language and teaching methodologies. The sessions cover the theory behind teaching and practical ideas to use in the classroom. Students must also take part in teaching practice where they are observed teaching students who come from different backgrounds and who have different levels of English.

How Will I Be Assessed?

Students will have four classroom related written assignments and in addition to this they will be observed teaching groups of ESOL students

Entry Requirements

All candidates will be interviewed and assessed prior to commencing the course. A pre-course task which includes language awareness and writing will be given to ensure candidate can meet the demands of the course.

Additional Information

Students must have an awareness of language and competence in both written and spoken English

Students can progress onto the ESOL DELTA course
