BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Art and Design

Introduction

BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Visual Arts. This course is designed to provide you with a wide range of skills for the creative industries. You will have access to modern purpose-built specialist studios and workshops, and will develop skills using industry standard computer programs. Creativity and experimentation is promoted throughout this course as you combine mediums to produce innovative exciting outcomes.

What Will I Learn

You will develop a diverse portfolio of Photography, Graphic Design, Interactive Design (web) and Mixed Media work. The course aims to develop "whole creatives" - those who are able to produce work in a variety of modern creative mediums with skill which is expected by future employers and Higher Education.

How Will I Be Assessed?

The course is 100% coursework.

Entry Requirements

Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades A*-C, including a GCSE in a creative subject such as Art, Graphics, Photography, Textiles or a Level 2 BTEC Diploma in Art (Merit) will be required.

Additional Information

Additional costs: Studio fee of £130 at enrolment. The fee includes payment for a starter kit, funding for trips and materials used within the course. Time commitment: You will spend 4 full days per week at College.

Progression

On completion, you can continue on to the BTEC Extended Diploma in Visual Arts.
