You will be required to continue your English study skills, as well as developing knowledge of the Performing Arts business. This includes learning about the many career opportunities available within the industry other than professional performance. The dance aspect of the course incorporates fitness, limbering, choreography, musical theatre, jazz and urban dance. It aims to develop strong leadership skills for those interested in a career in teaching. There are also additional evening classes to develop performance, leadership and fitness skills. The acting aspect of the course develops physical, vocal, team work, communication and emotional interpretive skills. Whilst exploring the different forms of theatre, you will develop confidence and academic skills to be able to apply to the next level of your education.Example Modules

How Will I Be Assessed?
The course is continually assessed with grades of Pass, Merit or Distinction being awarded in each different unit of study. A single final grade of Pass, Merit or Distinction will be awarded upon completion of all necessary units. There are no exams although you may have to sit tests to ensure that you gain your Functional Skills qualifications.Entry Requirements
Standard GCSE qualifications are desired, although the opportunity to re-sit GCSE English and Maths will be offered. In addition you must have a proven interest in Performing Arts or Dance. You will be required to attend a taster session.Additional Information
Additional costs: Studio fee of £150 at enrolment. The fee includes a your basic uniform, funding for trips and external workshops by theatre and dance professionals used within the course. Time commitment: The course requires 12.5 hours per week at ColleProgression
Upon successful completion of this course, you may progress onto a BTEC Extended Diploma in Perfuming Arts or Dance (Level 3).Career Opportunities
