Introduction

The aim of the course is to enhance students' enjoyment and appreciation of the media and its role in their daily lives and develop a critical understanding of the media through engagement with media products and concepts.

What Will I Learn

This course will equip students with the theoretical knowledge to analyse television drama and discuss institutional practices within the film industry. This knowledge underpins students' practical work, which combines filming tasks with pre-production skills and a reflective evaluation.

How Will I Be Assessed?

The course is split between an exam and coursework (50% each).

Entry Requirements

You will have 5 GCSEs grade A-C, including English Language.

Additional Information

There will be 4 hours of classroom contact per week, plus independent learning.

Progression

After you have completed this course, you can then proceed onto A2 Media Studies.
