This course covers the management of the procurement cycle from developing a supply strategy through to placing, managing and closing a supply contract. It provides a good foundation for understanding the processes and techniques required to procure goods and services needed for the successful delivery of a project or programme. Emphasis is also given to the need for professional support in key areas such as contract documentation and legal requirements, including the impact of purchasing within the EU and internationally.

- Recognise case law and its impact at all stages of procurement, including international and EU requirements
- Develop a supplier selection process, including categorizing needs, gathering information and minimizing risks
- Understand the requirements for producing contract documentation including contract payment options, and
- terms and conditions
- Understand the requirements for planning and managing a tender, including timetable, documentation, resources, communication, issues and evaluation techniques
- Establish key performance indicators within supplier and contract management, including the management of relationships
