Overview

This programme is designed to help team-leaders and supervisors identify the key differences between working within a team, and assisting in the supervision of a team, and to provide them with practical tools to support them.

Who will this programme benefit?

Anyone new to a supervisory or team leading position who is seeking an industry recognised qualification or for experienced team members wishing to develop their skills for their first supervisory role.

Programme structure

The workshops are highly participative, using facilitated discussion, presentations, case studies and group work. The workshops promote reflective review, and encourage delegates to find opportunities to apply the learning in the workplace. Delegates will complete three work-based learning assignments, which are assessed and verified by the ILM in order to achieve their accreditation.

  • utilise feedback and communication techniques to enhance your own performance and that of the team
  • define key ways that support and enhance team motivation and productivity, helping to reduce areas of poor performance
  • effectively implement techniques to monitor the team's output and improve productivity.

This programme will:

  • explore how the team leader/supervisor is essential to the organisation
  • help you understand the power of effective communication and feedback to assist in supervision/team leading
  • assist you in building a strong, effective and motivated team harnessing key techniques and applying these in the workplace
  • support you to improve productivity and effectiveness through effective performance improvement techniques
  • effective completion
  • provide personal action planning to embed and own the learning back in the workplace.
