Paediatric First aid Course Description

The Level 2 Certificate in First Aid for those Caring for Children focuses on the first aid knowledge and skills relevant for those caring for babies and young children under the age of 8. Learners will gain an understanding of how to recognise and respond appropriately to children’s accidents, illnesses and potential risks. This qualification also aims to develop the skills and knowledge of those wishing to seek employment in the childcare sector, or who are
studying other childcare programmes.

Multiple choice test and an internal assessment.

What standards do I need in order to join the Paediatric First aid course?
You must:
Be able to read and communicate clearly and accurately enough to meet the requirements of the training, NOT have a criminal record which might prevent you from working with children/young people or vulnerable adults.

What will I study?
A range of objectives concerning:
Unit 1 Dealing with first aid emergencies for babies and children
Unit 2 Babies’ and children’s injuries, serious illnesses and
medical conditions
