If you have a professional interest in basic life support for children and infants, i.e. you are a child-minder, school teacher etc., this short first aid training course is for you.
Delivered in Oxford by our first aid specialists, the training partly fulfils the requirements of OFSTED and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). In order to obtain the full qualification you must attend two days of Paediatric First Aid training and complete the two units of accreditation. This is one unit, the other unit is managing paediatric illness and injury.

- epilepsy
- dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- anaphylaxis
- wounds and bleeding
Learning activities include theory and practical sessions.
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor in respect of the student’s
practical ability along with a multiple choice question paper. A
unit accreditation certificate lasting three years will be issued
subject to assessment.
On successful completion of the course you will have gained confidence in dealing with First Aid for Babies and Young Children. Delegates will receive a certificate for 6 hour Paediatric First Aid.
No prior qualifications required. Prior First Aid knowledge would be advantageous. Students must be a minimum of 14 years of age and a certificate can be offered to all, subject to assessment
On successful completion of the course you could apply for the remaining unit or the 1 day EFAW or 3 day FAW qualifications.
