  • It is a suitable programme study for anyone including people who are on the autism spectrum with a quest to expand their knowledge base and skills in understanding and working alongside people on the autism spectrum.

There is a minimum attendance requirement of 85% of all thought sessions within the first three modules. Students must attend and engage with the tutorial process.

This is an opportunity to study at undergraduate or postgraduate level on a course accredited by the University of Cumbria and supported by local tutors. The course is delivered through taught sessions and is assessed by completion of three assignments, their length depending on the level of study. For those interested, it is possible to study additional programmes to achieve an MPhil.

This course is available at levels 4,5,6, and 7. Entrants will be placed on whatever level is commensurate with their prior achievement.

Modules

During Term 1: This module aims to enable students to develop their understanding of the key issues in the lives of children and young people on the Autistic Spectrum

During Term 2: This module should enable students to focus on strategies and interventions used to support children and young people on the Autistic Spectrum

During Term 3: This module enables students to explore an issue of importance to them. It allows them to extend their knowledge and understanding of a specific issue through undertaking a project.
