HMFG6005 Children and Young People with Long Term Conditions (20 credits at level 6)

Intended learning outcomes

On successful completion, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the leading principles and challenges involved when supporting children with chronic health needs
  • Critically reflect upon the literature that supports children with long term conditions
  • Critically reflect on your ability to enhance your practice when working with chronically ill children and their families in the community
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the legal, professional and ethical challenges of working with children in the community
  • Demonstrate an increased awareness of the psychosocial burden of long term health problems for children and their families
