This module serves as an enrichment opportunity for those wishing to pursue a career in psychology, social sciences, social work, working with children and young people, law, policing and/or criminology.
Resources and facilitiesThe Learning Gateway facilities will be used all week. Including the laptops, interactive whiteboards, lecture theatre, classrooms and open spaces.

Course summaryA module designed to cover a number of enrichment goals relevant to students aspiring to proceed to HE studies and to students already in an HE context wishing to explore career pathways.
There will be a range of applied social science, law, policing, criminology, business, youth work and psychology lectures and workshops to attend.
Skills workshops that will get you one step ahead when you go to university – e.g. using databases and e-journals for research, producing CV’s that make the most of the skills you already have that give you a framework for the future.

You will be set small group tasks to research career paths
You will have the opportunity to seek advice from lecturers, existing students and careers advisors about careers and the different routes you can take to reach your goal.
Where to find voluntary work and what sort of voluntary work you might want to do to improve your chances of getting work in the future.
Course DurationThe module leader will visit the school to help with registration and to help the students complete a short skills inventory. We would like to do this as soon as possible.
The module itself is 3.5 days (Monday to Thursday lunchtime) in duration and the students will be on campus studying with staff and students from the University.
