Aims of the Programme
The degree programme is designed to equip mental health professionals with the fundamental skills in cognitive behavioural psychotherapy of direct relevance to routine clinical practice.
Programme Content
The programme consists of lectures, seminars, skills-focused workshops and supervised clinical practice, presented in three, inter-related parts:
- A consideration of the theoretical foundation
- The development of practice skills
- Supervised clinical practice

Methods of Assessment
To obtain the Diploma students must complete satisfactorily all written assignments (four case reports and three essays) and receive satisfactory assessments from their clinical supervisors.
Entry Requirements
Applications are welcome from clinicians with professional qualifications in mental health. Consideration will also be given, on a case by case basis, to experienced counsellors working in the private or voluntary sectors.
English Language Requirement: IELTS of 6.5, with minimum of 6.0 in the Writing component and a preferred 6.0 in the other three components (no component below 5.5) (or equivalent), if your first language is not English.
