This course focuses on issues relating to the health and developmental needs of children and is aimed at anyone with an interest in child learning and development and early childhood studies.On the course you will explore and evaluate strategies designed to support children's health and wellbeing through co-ordinated programmes of action. You will develop an understanding of how prevention and early intervention ensure long term health gains are possible and consider the development of a holistic approach to support the health and wellbeing of early years' children.

The course will also explore the issues of inequality in children's health, health policy and children‚s rights, and how individuals and agencies can work together to develop children‚s health and wellbeing.
Formal teaching will be by lectures, tutorials, seminars and class activities including work based practice. A substantial part of your learning will require independent study.
Assessment will be based on one 4000 word essay (90%) and a poster presentation (10%).
