- Promote additional services or products to clients
- Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
- Plait and twist hair
- Perm and neutralise hair
Entry requirements You must be employed in a hairdressing salon for at least 30 hours/week. Who is it for? A Hairdressing Apprenticeship is for anyone who’s serious about a hairdressing career. There are options to suit individual needs and aspirations – and if you’re already working in hairdressing, you could develop your skills to become a senior stylist. CostAged 16-18

Aged 24 and over
Total People require employers to make a contribution towards the cost for all learners aged 25 years and over, embarking on an Apprenticeship or Advanced Apprenticeship programme.
Duration 6 – 24 months Start date Available all year Assessment method The NVQ Diploma is assessed in the workplace or a realistic working environment. The qualifications are likely to call for a variety of assessment methods and the national occupational standards define what is to be assessed. Methods of assessment include:
- Observation of performance
- Questioning
- Knowledge assessments with both online and paper tests available
You will need an environment where you can develop your knowledge and practice your skills.
