The course is aimed at people who have an aptitude for practically based subjects and/or are practically orientated, who wish to pursue a course in electrical installation.

- Metalwork fabrication for electrical enclosures

Theoretical work you will cover:
- 17th Edition regulations

Entry Requirements:
Interview required
You will be assessed for your potential to
achieve the apprenticeship. The assessment will depend upon the
level and range of activities you will be undertaking in the
workplace.
You may need to undergo an initial assessment of your English and
maths skills in which you are required to be working at or towards
level 2.
It is recommended that apprentices have previously obtained GCSE
grade C or above in English and maths.
At the start of your apprenticeship programme you will need to be
employed by a suitable and appropriate employer for at least 16
hours a week. You also will need to have been a resident in the EU
for at least 3 years.
Commitment and motivation are necessary to complete the course.
Assessment:
Methods of assessment include on-line testing, practical and written examinations and portfolio-based project work.
Progression from this course:
Following successful completion of the course, an apprentice will have the skills and the qualifications to proceed to the advanced apprenticeship in electrotechnical installation to gain registration as a qualified electrician.

Course Costs:
There are currently no fees payable by young people on Apprenticeship programmes. Fees may be payable by the employer where the candidate is 19 or older. Details available on request.
Apprentices are expected to purchase a copy of the Electrical Regulations (17th edition), On-site Guide (17th edition) and Performing Engineering Operations course books.
