Diploma in Hairdressing - Fast Track (Evening) Level 2

This course is for students who wish to achieve a professional qualification and are prepared to attend this intensive course.

Course content:
- Advice and consulting with clients
- Shampoo and conditioning the hair and scalp
- Developing and maintaining effectiveness at work
- Health and safety
- Styling, dressing and finishing hair
- Cutting hair using basic techniques
- Changing hair colour using basic techniques
- Giving clients a positive impression of yourself
- Promoting products and services

Entry Requirements:

Interview required

Applications from mature students without formal qualifications are welcomed provided they demonstrate sufficient interest in the subject. Candidates must have good interpersonal skills, a smart appearance and an interest in hair and fashion. You will be required to successfully pass an interview showing enthusiasm and commitment towards this subject. Individual cases will be considered on their own merits.

Assessment:

There is a process of continuous assessment including progressive practical and written outcomes.

Progression from this course:

On successful completion of this course with the achievement of satisfactory attendance and progress reviews, you will have the opportunity to progress to the diploma in hairdressing level 3.

Course Costs:

All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials / resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees). Equipment and uniform, a text book and suitable salon shoes. Kit lists and costs will be discussed at interview.
