This course will cover the following topics: * Give clients a positive impression of yourself and your organisation * Make sure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety * Advise and consult with clients * Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp * Style and finish hair * Cut hair using basic techniques * Change hair colour * Set and dress hair * Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work Students will be taught by direct observation, practise, theory sessions and demonstrations. How will I be assessed ? Assessment will be through: * Practical observations * Oral questions * External written tests What qualifications could I achieve ? On successful completion of this course, you will achieve City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing What can the course lead to ? Students who successfully complete this course can then progress to Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing. Alternatively, some students may choose to find employment opportunities with European or Afro-Caribbean hair in England, overseas, in the theatre, television or on a cruise liner. How do I join the course ? Applicants will need to complete and return an application form, then attend an interview. Will I need an interview ? Yes. You will also be required to provide a satisfactory academic reference and you will be required to carry out a written and practical test. Are there any extra costs for equipment/materials ? Students will be required to purchase a uniform, equipment, textbooks and equipment which should cost approximately �200.00. There will also be some additional exam fees: * C&G Level 2 - �100.00 approx
