- City and Guilds functional skills
- NCFE Award in Investigating and Demonstrating Enterprise Skills (Entry level 3)

Entry Requirements:

Interview required

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, students are required to show a willingness to learn, participate in and develop skills in a college environment. Following an interview it is expected that the learner attend a taster session to determine suitability for the course and to ensure that their needs are met.

Assessment:

Assessment is ongoing and consistent throughout the academic year, this is evident via an initial screening process and then regularly via the Personal Development Plan. Learners are assessed on an individual basis by the tutor and through the verification of completed portfolio units. The online PDP system allows for the learner to log in and view their progress and targets so they are always aware of their achievement to date. Three annual reviews and regular staff meetings ensure that the assessment and review process continues to map individual progression.

Progression from this course:

Progression from this one year course is always based on the individual. Learners are encouraged to discuss their hopes and aspirations and are offered support to work towards a realistic goal. Progression routes onto other courses, either within Foundation or in other faculty areas are available and will be determined by the individual needs and abilities of each student accordingly. An opportunity to discuss progression in detail is usually via the Progress Evening held in March.
