This qualification will support candidates' progression in the workplace through the development of their administrative skills. Administrators at this level undertake a wide range of complex tasks in a variety of work contexts. You must have a high degree of autonomy and responsibility and may provide some supervisory support. Job roles could include administration clerk, personal assistant, office supervisor, team leader, or secretary.

Level 3 Certificate in Business and Administration
Consists of 3 units:
- Principles of personal responsibilities and how to develop and evaluate your own
- Principles of working with and supervising others in a business environment
- Principles of managing information and producing documents in a business
This is a written examination (multiple choice).

Functional skills in English and maths at level 2, delivered at designated hubs at chosen college campuses.

End Qualification:

- NVQ Diploma in Business Administration at Level 3
- Level 3 Certificate in Business and Administration
- Functional skills in English, ICT and maths at level 2
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills

Entry Requirements:

Interview required

You will be assessed for your potential to achieve the apprenticeship. The assessment will depend upon the level and range of activities you will be undertaking in the workplace.

There are no specific academic entry requirements, however you may need to undergo an initial assessment of your English and maths skills in which you are required to be working at or towards level 2.

At the start of your apprenticeship programme you will need to be employed by a suitable and appropriate employer for at least 16 hours a week. You also need to have been a resident in the EU for at least 3 years.

Commitment and motivation are necessary to complete the course.

Assessment:

The diploma is delivered in the workplace using a portfolio of evidence, observations, statements and question and answer sessions. The technical certificate is delivered in the workplace except the exam.
There will also be functional skills tests to be completed.

Progression from this course:

This qualification could be a stepping stone to various careers including legal secretary, degree courses or educational administration that requires a high degree of autonomy.

Course Costs:

There are currently no fees payable by young people on Apprenticeship programmes. Fees may be payable by the employer where the candidate is 19 or older. Details available on request.
