End Qualification:

Year 1: AS Level Physics
Year 2: A2 Level Physics

Entry Requirements:

Interview required

5 GCSEs including GCSE Core Science Grade B, GCSE Additional Science Grade B, or GCSE Physics grade B, GCSE English language Grade C and GCSE Mathematics grade B plus 2 others grade C or above. Recommend also studying A Level Maths and A Level Further Maths.

Assessment:

AS level:
1 hour written exam (30% of AS, 15% of A2).
1 hour 45 mins written exam (50% of AS, 25% of A2).
Internal assessment (20% of AS, 10% of A2).

A2 level:
1 hour written exam (15% of A2).
1 hour 45 mins written exam (25% of A2).
Internal assessment (10% of A2).

Progression from this course:

This subject is an excellent qualification for entry into medicine, dentistry, law, research, engineering, IT and business. Employers respect and look for people who have learned to think logically, to solve problems, to handle numbers, to work together and who are creative and love a challenge. These are exactly the sort of qualities you develop through a study of physics.

Course Costs:

All students on full-time courses will need to pay a materials/resources fee. Details will be provided before enrolment. If you are under 19 on 31st August in the year you begin your programme, you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees for your course. For students aged 19 or over, there will be a tuition fee (depends on the course) for each year of the course as well as a registration fee (which includes exam fees). However, many students will be eligible for reduced fees and / or financial support towards the costs. Click here for detailed information.
