Full-Time courses for 16-18 School Leavers are Free.

If you are aged between 19 and 23 and don't already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, and you need to study at Entry or Level 1 to progress to Level 2, tuition fees will be waived. If you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria, tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply).

This course will be part of a foundation programme where the majority of the study is practical based in a workshop environment.

The qualification comprises of both mandatory and optional unit and be assessed by observation, practical work and written question. What you will learn:

• Working safely in an engineering environment

• Working efficiently and effectively in engineering

• Using and communicating technical information

• Carrying out sheet metal cutting, forming and assembly

• Cutting and shaping plate work components

• Using manual MIG or MAG welding equipment Entry Qualification: Learners are required to have 4 GCSEs at grade D-G and will also be required to undertake an interview and assessment. Candidates will be expected to be enthusiastic about embarking on a career in engineering and have an aptitude for practical activities. Special Features: Functional skills including Maths, English and IT form part of this programme
