Duration:18 weeks Fee: £450 (Price Includes Registration fee of £100)

If you are studying at Level 1 or 2 AND you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply). If you are studying at Level 3 AND you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria AND are aged between 19 and 23, tuition fees will be waived. Tuition fees will not be waived for students aged over 23 studying a Level 3 or higher course, however these students may qualify for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan.
Course Content: Portfolio of drgs (8 outcomes) and an externally assessed multiple choice exam.

Aim

This qualification aims to equip candidates with the basic understanding and principles of 2D drawing environments, in term of hardware, software and physical surroundings. It will explore the typical composition of a CAD system and health and safety matters that associated with safe working practices.

There are eight learning outcomes to the portfolio of drawings. The learner will be able to:

1. Use associated IT, CAD hardware and operating systems.

2. Use basic file management techniques and maintain health and safety requirements.

3. Use and identify key components of the software relating to the 2D drawing environment.

4. Use a range of viewing commands and set up the drawing space.

5. Use drawing commands to produce shapes.

6. Use the CAD software’s co-ordinate system to aid accurate drawing.

7. Use hatch, text and simple dimensioning routines.

8. Use basic editing commands and produce simple hard copies.

Entry Qualification: The selection of candidates is at the discretion of the centre. It is preferred that candidates are already experienced computer users. Course Format: Classroom based with Autocad software
