If you are aged between 19 and 23 and you don’t have a qualification equivalent to 2 A Levels, tuition fees will be waived. If you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria AND are aged 19-23, tuition fees will be waived. Tuition fees will not be waived for students aged over 23 studying a Level 3 or higher course, however these students may qualify for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan.

Course Content: This course will provide you with a thorough
introduction to the subject knowledge required for a range of
technical and professional occupations within the construction
industry and cover such areas as architectural design, CAD,
estimating, production planning, building surveying and site
supervision. Throughout the course you will complete18 units that
are designed to focus on the practical application of knowledge and
work-related skills necessary within the construction industry at
managerial/professional level.
You will be continually assessed through a combination of both
internal and external assessments in the form of assignments,
reports, test papers, presentations and oral questioning, through
which you will demonstrate an understanding of and the application
of principles and practices for each unit. For each unit you
complete you will receive either a pass, merit or distinction
grade, which will contribute to an overall grade at the end of the
course. Entry Qualification: School leavers aged 16 or over should
possess 5 GCSEs at grade A*-C, these must include English and Math
and preferably also include Science or Technology.
Applications are welcome from those who have particular work
experience or other qualifications such as a BTEC First Diploma or
Award.
Mature applicants with out the normal prerequisites are also
welcome to apply.
All applicants will be required to attend an interview to discuss
their motivation for applying and complete an initial diagnostic
assessment. Special Features: Students will have the opportunity of
visiting local construction sites, trade shows and projects within
the built environment. In year 2 it is expected that all students
will participate in a 1 week work placement and experience working
within a team environment, also to attend a compulsory Residential
weekend. Progression: Employment and promotion prospects in
management/technician roles within the construction industry are
currently very good. Successful students may also progress onto
Level 4 BTEC Higher National Certificates either day
release/evening only while in employment. Alternatively, successful
students can apply through UCAS for professional studies in
Construction.
