Course Content: This course is designed to provide a broad-based vocational education within art, craft and design. It offers students the opportunity to develop their creative skills, knowledge and understanding; enabling them to gain an understanding of the context and vocational relevance of their work and to prepare them for entry into higher education, further training, employment or self-employment in the art, craft and design sectors.

Project work is set to allow students to experience a wide range of specialism’s including life drawing, printmaking, painting, 3D techniques, textiles, art history and contemporary studies. There are also opportunities to negotiate access to other specialist areas during personal projects including digital processes and photography. In addition to practical techniques, importance is placed on higher order thinking, generation and management of creative ideas and employability skills including research, analysis and direction of self identified briefs. A strong tutorial programme ensures learners are supported in developing a professional approach to a reflective practice.
