Full-Time courses for 16-18 School Leavers are Free.
If you are aged between 19 and 23 and don’t already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, tuition fees will be waived. If you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria, tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply).
Course Content: The course usually takes one year to complete but if you need longer then this is also possible and may be negotiated with your tutor as you progress through the course. however, practical skills demonstrated at audition and a real
enthusiasm for Performing Arts will be taken into account.
Experience in school or amateur productions will also help to
convince the Performing Arts Team that you are really serious about
making a success of the course. Special Features: This is a
vocational course that develops knowledge, understanding and skills
in dance and drama through practical work and some academic study.
Course Format: Students work on 'core projects’ learning to
rehearse towards performances. Success on the course depends on
completion of both practical and written assignments and there is a
strong emphasis on the development of performance-related
skills.
Assessment is through practical and written assignments and
observations throughout the year. Progression: Progression from
BTEC First Diploma can be onto the first year of a BTEC Level 3
Extended Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance, Acting or Music
Practice) and from here to HND/Degree level study or work in the
Performing Arts and Entertainment industries.
