Duration:1 Year Fee: £1500
Full-Time courses for 16-18 School Leavers are Free.

If you are aged between 19 and 23 and don't already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, and you need to study at Entry or Level 1 to progress to Level 2, tuition fees will be waived. If you meet the Eligible Benefit criteria, tuition fees will be waived. (Registration Fees will still apply).
Course Content: The course introduces learners to the subjects of sport and travel. The course includes:

• Improving Fitness

• Working in Sport and Leisure

• Taking part in sport

• Planning a trip to a visitor attraction

• Researching a tourist destination

• Health and safety

• Basic functional skills numeracy, literacy & IT will also be developed creating a balance between practical and theory based sessions

• Personal and social development units will also be included to develop confidence, social awareness and skills for work.

Entry Qualification: The course is aimed at 16-19 year olds, there are no formal entry requirements.

All applicants will be required to attend an interview to discuss their motivation for applying and complete an initial diagnostic assessment.

Special Features: All applicants must attend an interview followed by a Pre Course day. You will be required to purchase a uniform and pay for trips during the course. Course Format: How will I learn?:

Through a variety of methods from practical, group work, worksheets and other class based activities with support, all aiding the learning experience & knowledge of sport and travel. The course allows the improvement of interpersonal skills such as communication and teamwork. Additionally several trips are organised through the year to support learning.

Progression: How will my progress be assessed?:

Your work will be assessed on a regular basis through a range of theory and practical based assessment exercises.

Students could progress laterally onto other foundation learning courses at Entry Level 3, or progress onto a Level 1 Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure. Alternatively, there maybe the option of progression onto another Level 1 courses across the college.
