Who is this course for?

This course will suit you if you are working in roles such as Section Manager, First Line Manager, Assistant Manager, Trainee Manager, Senior Supervisor.

What will I do on the course?

You will study a mix of theory (knowledge) and practical (competency) modules as part of your course. Although the modules you choose will be those most closely connected to your work activities, typical topics that you will cover on this course are:

• Managing your own professional development

• Setting objectives for teams

• Plan, allocate and monitor team

• Implementing change

• Partaking and leading meetings

• Communicating information

• Solving problems

• Making decisions.

Alongside this work, you will also complete modules on Employment Rights and Responsibilities, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills and Functional Skills English and Mathematics.

What qualifications do I need?

There are no formal What qualifications do I need?, however you should have a keen interest in business and demonstrate the potential to develop good communication and organisation skills. Ideally, you will have completed an introductory/team leading qualification at Level 2 and have some vocational experience in a supervisory/management role.

When does the course start?

September 2013, however flexible start times may also be available.

Where is it held?

As with all Apprenticeship programmes, you will be employed in a supervisory/management environment and be visited regularly in the workplace by your trainer/ assessor for practical assessments. Some learning and activities may be completed through our dedicated online portals.

How long does the course last?

The expected duration for this course is 18-24 months.

What does it cost?

The course is fully funded for those individuals who meet the Apprenticeship funding requirements. For those who do not meet these requirements, individual prices can be provided on request.
