Designed to provide students with up to date industry relevant skills the award aims to provide advanced skills in the following depending on the options chosen:
  • Advanced film production and post-production using Adobe, Apple and high definition cutting edge film equipment
  • Film development and management
  • Film event management
  • Film and sound design
A Film Research Project and Dissertation ensure rigorous academic standards are maintained.

What qualifications do I need?

  • FdSc achieved at South Staffordshire College or Stafford College
  • Subject related HND or Foundation Degree (subject to approval by Award Leader)

Assessment

Assessments are designed to be interesting, relevant and contemporary, with the aim of enhancing personal and professional development whilst also evaluating performance in order to both demonstrate an in depth understanding of the subject area and to develop and enhance relevant and transferable skills. Formative assessment and tutor assessment feedback provide an opportunity for on-going reflection on performance. The aim of formative and summative feedback is to help learners understand how to improve their work, as well as offering them the opportunity to consider and discuss their own progress.

Teaching and Learning

The award is highly practical with a strong academic underpinning and is delivered through formal lectures, workshops and regular tutorials and supervisories. You will be expected to take responsibility for your own learning and development and the self-directed study undertaken during this award aims to build on and develop the knowledge and skills learnt in class. This is equally relevant to work undertaken when completing individual or collaborative assignments.
