Entry and admission criteria
All applications are considered individually as students come from a range of backgrounds with different academic qualifications and work experience. Application to the top-up to BSc or BSc (Hons) requires successful completion of one of the Foundation Degrees noted above or an equivalent qualification. If you have an appropriate qualification from another institution you may be able to join the course in the fourth year for the top-up to BSc. Applications from mature students are welcomed.
Teaching and assessment
Teaching and learning can include lectures, seminars, group workshops and individual tutorials. Assessment is through a variety of coursework, including essays, reports based on work-related issues and presentations. The top-up course for each year begins in late September and finishes in the following May. Teaching is done on a ‘blended’ basis with short blocks of study in the fourth year (approximately 13 days in total) and in the fifth year with an intensive introductory session and individual tutorials.

Academic expertise
The course is based in the Centre for Comparative Housing Research (CCHR), part of Leicester Business School, the regional centre for housing education and training in the East Midlands. Additionally, our £35 million Hugh Aston Building offers state-of-the-art teaching and computer lab facilities.
