Creative Watercolours - Beginners Intermediate

A structured watercolour course for beginners and those students who would like to brush up on their watercolour skills.

What will I do on the course?

Students will be encouraged to learn, practise and develop a variety of watercolour techniques together with drawing skills. Other water-based mediums, including those which extend textures, will be explored.

The course will enable you to extend your understanding of watercolours and develop creative skills in this traditional, yet contemporary medium, within a variety of subject topics.

Project work will support technical skills and will be based on the students own reference material. Demonstration and one to one support will be given to help students develop their technical skills. Watercolour artists both past and present will also be referred to in order to extend understanding of the medium.

Topics covered:-

• Introduction to still life painting and drawing skills
• Introduction to skills in landscape painting using washes and textures
• Development of landscape painting

The course runs for 2 hours per week (8 or 10 weeks).
