Who is this course for?

If you are interested in finance, management or retail this course is right for you. You do not need to have prior business knowledge to study this course.

What will I do on the course?

You will complete projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations. The course is made up of modules which allow you to explore many aspects of a working life in business. You will study a range of topics which may include:

• Business purposes
• Business organisations
• Financial forecasting for business
• People in organisations
• Managing personal finances
• Working in business teams
• Bookkeeping for business
• Consumer rights
• Personal selling in business
• Verbal and non-verbal communication in business

In addition, you will learn skills that are required in any career choice, including health & safety, confidence building, social and practical skills, and English and Maths. We also offer English and Maths GCSE resits.

What qualifications do I need?

• 4 GCSEs Grade D or above, OR
• Level 1 qualification in a related subject
• Adequate standard of English and Maths
• Mature learners with other qualifications and/or experience are also welcomed
• You should have a strong interest in business and demonstrate a commitment to succeed

Are there any additional costs?

Learners may be required to purchase small items such as personal stationery and USB stick. Prices and details will be discussed at interview. Bursary funds may be available to help with additional costs.
