Beauty Employability Skills Certificate Level 3

Who is this course for?

VRQ level 3 is designed specifically for those wishing to enter the beauty profession. It will equip you with further knowledge and skills that build on those gained at level 2, from beauty techniques to working effectively with colleagues and clients. Level 3 will enable you to enter employment not only as a beauty therapist in salons, but also spas, health farms and cruise ships.

What will I do on the course?

You will develop your personal and social skills whilst preparing for the world of work. Subjects include; Beauty employability skills and personal development, working with and supporting others, problem solving, job search and preparation for work. Students will also have the opportunity to develop their English and maths skills whilst on the programme.

• Unit 302 Monitor and maintain Health and Safety practice in the salon
• Unit 304 Promote and sell products and services to clients
• Unit 305 Provide body massage
• Unit 306 Provide facial electro-therapy treatments
• Unit 313 Provide self tanning
• Unit 322 Apply stone therapy massage

Spa Route -Tamworth campus

• Unit 302 Monitor and maintain Health and Safety practice in the salon
• Unit 303 Client care and communication in beauty related industries
• Unit 304 Promote and sell products and services to clients
• Unit 305 Provide body massage
• Unit 306 Provide facial electro-therapy treatments
• Unit 311 Provide Indian Head massage
• Unit 313 Provide self tanning

15 hours per week for 1 year

What could I do after completing the course?

Upon successful completion of either course you will gain a VRQ Level 3; a professional qualification awarded by C&G who are one of the market leaders in beauty and holistic qualifications. This qualification will enable you to get started as a beauty therapy Once fully-qualified as a beauty therapist, there are many careers you can enjoy, such as:

Student Success

Since the start of Beauty Therapy at SSC College, our students have represented the college in the national UK Skills Challenge competition and have been successfully placed.

How will I be assessed?

Most of the assessment is done through practical observation of skills and techniques. There is an element of internal assessment in the form of written tests/assignments and Gola on line Exams.

Are there any additional costs?

This is a very practical course using a variety of teaching methods including lectures, demonstrations and presentations. You will work on your own, in pairs and small groups practicing techniques within a realistic working environment in well equipped, purpose built salons, You will need salon clothing and specific equipment; full advice will be given on these before the start of the course. Equipment and uniform costs will vary, depending on the route you choose to follow.
