Animal Care Diploma Level 2
This is a good course for you if you enjoy learning through practical work, if you have a passion for the outdoors and want to work at a pet store, veterinary practice, zoo or safari park. This course will also suit you if you are currently working in the animal care industry and wish to gain a recognised qualification.
What will I do on the course?
A typical working week will comprise of some classroom sessions and lots of practical work. There will also be time to meet with your tutor and work on improving your Maths and English. In addition, you will learn skills that are required in any career choice, including health & safety, confidence building, social and practical skills, English and Maths. We also offer English and Maths GCSE resits.What qualifications do I need?
- 4 GCSEs Grade D or above, OR
- Level 1 qualification in a related subject
- Adequate standard of English and Maths
- Mature learners with other qualifications and/or experience are also welcomed
- You should have a strong interest in working with animals and demonstrate a commitment to succeed

Are there any additional costs?
Learners will be required to purchase items of personal protective equipment (steel toe capped boots, overalls and wet weather gear) for use on the course.
