Summary:
If you are interested in a career in Nursing, Social Work, Care or other health related professions this vocational qualification is an excellent choice. It is equivalent to three A Levels and also satisfies university entry requirements if you want to go on to further study at degree level; for example a degree in Nursing or Social Work. Work experience is included as part of the course for one day a week. There will be a variety of placements to give you a range of valuable practical experiences and a real insight into working in Health and Social Care.

Core Skills:The following are examples of the modules you will study during the Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma: Life stage development, Anatomy and Physiology, Communication skills, Caring for children and young people, Supporting and protecting adults, Health Psychology, Public Health, Caring for individuals with Additional Needs, Caring for older people and Professional Development.
Assessment:Assessment is continuous with assignments at the end of each module. You will also keep a log of your placement experience and your personal development. There are no exams.
Academic Progression:Completion of this course satisfies university entry requirements if you want to go on to further study at degree level.
Career Progression:You can progress to a career in Nursing, Social Work, Care or other allied health related professions.
