Who is this course for?This is a good course for you if you enjoy learning through practical work, if you have a passion for the outdoors and want to work as a kennel assistant, pet shop assistant or cattery assistant.
What will I do on the course?
A typical working week will comprise of some classroom sessions and lots of practical animal care work. There will also be time to meet with your tutor and work on improving your Maths and English. Your tutor will encourage you to attend a voluntary animal care placement 1 day each week. In addition, you will learn skills that are required in any career choice, including health & safety, confidence building, social and practical skills, English and Maths.What qualifications do I need?
- 3 GCSEs Grade E or above
- You should have a strong interest in working with animals and demonstrate a commitment to succeed

Are there any additional costs?
Learners will be required to purchase items of personal protective equipment (steel toe capped boots, overalls and wet weather gear) for use on the course. Prices and details will be discussed at interview. Bursary funds may be available to help with additional costs.Share your review
